When I first sat down to write my very first book, I had no idea that a single step of faith would one day evolve into over one hundred literary works. Each book, blog, and podcast episode I’ve created since has been like planting a seed—sometimes filled with doubts and uncertainties, but always sown with purpose.
Behind the Scenes: Finding My Purpose
Let me give you a glimpse "behind the book": my journey as an author wasn’t always easy or glamorous. In fact, it involved late nights, missed plans, countless cups of coffee, and plenty of moments where I second-guessed myself. One fun fact? At least a dozen of my book ideas were "written" on napkins while sitting in community centers or café corners, inspired by conversations or experiences I was living right then. That’s the big lesson: Inspiration is everywhere if you’re willing to look for it.
Over time, I realized my true niche wasn’t just writing for writing’s sake—it was using my voice to be the change I wish to see. Storytelling through books and podcasting became my way to Educate, Empower, and Encourage—what I now call the E3 Experience. I believe we’re all called to leave a legacy, but legacies aren’t accidents; they are the yield of seeds we plant through everyday actions and intentional choices.
Planting Seeds, Producing Fruit
We often wonder: "What’s my purpose?" The answer is simpler than we think. Every experience—good or bad—is a seed for the legacy you’ll leave. Hardships taught me resilience, while victories taught me gratitude. Every story I share, and every platform I build, isn’t just about me—it’s about sparking hope and courage in someone else.
If you feel like your efforts aren’t bearing fruit just yet, remember: even the mightiest oak started as an invisible sprout beneath the soil. I’ve learned that consistency and sincerity in your calling always produce results. Sometimes the fruit is obvious, other times it’s a quiet transformation happening in someone reading your words or listening to your journey.
Reflect: What Seeds Are You Planting?
As you follow my journey or pick up one of my books, consider:
What seeds are you planting through your daily actions, words, and relationships?
How will these seeds shape your legacy and the lives of others?
Don’t wait for the “perfect moment” to begin—start sowing now, even if your seeds are small. Your story matters; your voice is needed. You can’t control all the outcomes, but you can commit to doing the work and trusting in the fruit to follow.
My Challenge to You
Today, find your niche. Whether it’s writing, teaching, speaking, or simply supporting someone else’s dreams—step out and plant the seeds of change you wish to see. The world needs what only you can give. And remember: Every seed sown in faith and purpose, no matter how small, adds up to a legacy worth celebrating.
Stay inspired, keep planting, keep watering, and let’s watch our gardens of purpose grow—together.
With gratitude, Angela Thomas Smith
