S.H.I.F.T. – Moving in God’s Power: Going Deeper
S – Stay the Course Educate: Staying the course means remaining committed even when you’re tired, tempted, or doubting. Think of Noah, who spent decades building the ark with no evidence of rain, enduring mockery and waiting on God’s word to come to pass. His faithfulness preserved his family and helped fulfill God’s promise. Empower: You may be facing situations where you feel alone, misunderstood, or tempted to quit your goals, studies, or even your faith walk. Remember: endurance is not about never struggling—it’s about refusing to quit. Your breakthrough may come at the next sunrise; don’t give up at midnight! Encourage: What seems like delay may actually be God deepening your character. He is faithful to finish the work He started in you (Philippians 1:6). Stay rooted, and you’ll see God’s promises fulfilled.
H – Hold on to His Unchanging Hand Educate: Everything else in life changes—friendships, trends, even our emotions. But God’s character never changes. Just as He was faithful to the Israelites—leading them by cloud and fire, feeding them with manna—He will guide and provide for you through every season. Empower: When life is uncertain or when you feel lost, anchor your hope in God’s consistency. Go back to what you know is true: His love, His word, His promise to never leave you. Memorize verses like Hebrews 13:8 (Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever). Encourage: Reach out and grip God’s hand in prayer. Even when everything shifts around you, He is your safe place—unchanging and unshakeable.
I – Inspire Yourself and the Mass Educate: Self-encouragement is biblical! David faced deep discouragement and danger, but “encouraged himself in the Lord.” Positive self-talk isn’t just a modern concept—it’s learning to remind yourself of God’s truth. As you do, you’ll become a wellspring of encouragement for others. Empower: Learn to speak life over your dreams, your mistakes, and your future. Practice gratitude. Write down three things God has done for you. When you overflow with hope, others around you catch that fire. Encourage: Don’t wait for others to cheer you on—sometimes God calls you to be your own encourager! And when you do, you’ll have a voice and testimony to uplift those who are weary, discouraged, or doubting.
F – Faith: Walk by Faith, Not by Sight Educate: Abraham followed God out of his comfort zone, not knowing the details—just trusting God’s character. Faith is moving when you can’t yet see; it’s confidence in God, not just in circumstances. Empower: Every step of obedience strengthens your faith muscle. When you take a chance—speaking up for what’s right, choosing purity, daring to pray for big things—you’re walking by faith. God always rewards faith. Encourage: Don’t let fear hold you back from what God has. You may not see the finish line, but you’re called to take the next step. Faith in God’s promises outweighs doubt about the future.
T – Testify: Don’t Sit Down on What God Has Done Educate: The Samaritan woman at the well met Jesus, and immediately ran to share her story. Testimonies are powerful—your experience with God might be exactly what someone else needs to believe. Empower: Share what God’s done for you! Big or small, it matters. Your testimony could break chains for someone else struggling to trust or believe. Encourage: Your story is significant, even if it’s still being written. Don’t let shame or fear silence your voice. Celebrate what God has done and watch hope multiply in others.
Powerful Close & Call to Action Imagine what would shift in your school, family, or city if you chose to live this way: Staying faithful, holding tight to God, encouraging others, moving by faith, and boldly sharing your story! Questions to Reflect:

  • Where do you need to “stay the course” in this season?

  • What changes threaten your faith, and how can you hold to God’s unchanging hand?

  • How could you encourage yourself and spark hope in your friends this week?

  • What step of faith is God calling you to take?

  • Who needs to hear your testimony right now?

Final Encouragement: As we S.H.I.F.T. into this next season, remember—God’s power moves through you! Every act of faith, every whispered prayer, and every story of His goodness changes the world. Keep shifting forward; God’s not done with you yet!
